The food at this restaurant is delicious, with lightly breaded fried items. The fish tacos have a nice crunch and great taste. The service is good and the prices are reasonable. View all feedback.
What Weldon Marquardt doesn't like about Dock Of The Bay 2:
I wish I'd snapped a photo, but the food was too good to wait. I miss the Portsmouth location so much, especially because of how well we are treated every time we go. A longer drive is still worth it to me.I went with my Mom today, it'd been too long since we grabbed lunch together. The shrimp tempura tacos were even better than I recalled, which is impressive. Yolanda, Sean, and their entire staff treat you like fam... View all feedback.
Good food and good service. We had the broiled seafood platter and fried fish tacos. The platter only had two shrimp and two scallops in addition to a good size piece of salmon and crab cake. Everything was cooked perfectly so it?s definitely quality over quantity. There were three big fish tacos which didn?t disappoint. Holy, our server was excellent!
When dining at Dock of the Bay, we feel like we are with family. The shrimp tacos were absolutely delicious and kept us coming back; we have tried almost everything on the menu. We particularly enjoy going on Wednesday nights for the half-priced bottles of wine, which we often take home. The service is excellent and the food is expertly cooked. If you are looking for fast food, you may be disappointed as everything is made fresh in the restaurant, not frozen or microwaved. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, with a unique ambiance. This is the second location for the Duffee family, with the first one in Portsmouth. Having visited numerous seafood restaurants in the Hampton Roads area, as well as in Williamsburg and Yorktown, we can confidently say that this is one of our favorites.
I have driven by this place many times, but I didn't know it existed until 9/17! The staff was friendly, especially the waitress Megan (or Meghan). She was attentive, accommodating, and overall a nice person. The food was delicious, hot, and tasty! I will definitely be back soon.
My wife and I went for lunch on Sunday. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived but became very busy by the time we left. The food was delicious and everything was well-prepared. The staff, including the hosts and servers, were professional and friendly. Our server, I believe her name was Lindsey or Leslie, mentioned they were short-staffed that day but they all worked hard to provide excellent service. We were impressed by the teamwork and dedication of the staff. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant!
During my first visit to this restaurant while visiting family in nearby Hampton, I was very impressed. The hushpuppies were delicious and the tuna fish tacos with mango pico de gallo were also quite good. My dining companions had the combo plate which included fried flounder and fried shrimp, both of which were cooked perfectly and not greasy. The only downside was the coleslaw, which, although fresh, was rather dry and lacking in flavor. The service was excellent and overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for a great seafood dining experience. Service: Dine-in.
