Loooove Club Jalapeño! Have been here at least 20-30 times and it never disappoints. Try the tacos Oaxaca, Gabriela's enchiladas, spicy chicken quesadilla or spicy enchiladas! And the chips and salsa you do have to pay for, but this is not your ordinary chips and salsa, totally worth it. Wait staff can be a little slow when it's busy, but it's just because there are usually only two of them there, they are both super... View all feedback.
Has been to Club Jalapeno several times and has never been horrified! Our favorite thing to get is the filled artichoke....mouth irrigation!!
CLUB JALAPEÑO DESERVES A CHANCE SO ENJOY! There are not many places to get pleasure and joy of Mexican food in Carmel; but Club Jalapeño can supply the payload. In the last minute we decided to try it... it was worth the trip and it was a not so easy place to find.... But we were in downtown Carmel. We started with a few margaritas – the regular with salt and the Cadillac rocks and salt. Both were well balanced with sweet and acidic taste make for a good start. The only way to support the drinks was to order chips that were extra – really? Too bad while the chips were a good part – was it really necessary to make it an extra a la carte type item? We have included the chips with some really wonderful guacamole (glossy, with the right spices). We ordered the Baja Fish Soft Tacos. While the menu “Frittierte”-Fisch says – we asked “drilled” and met our order – quite appropriate. The Tacos were accompanied with a beautiful Cabbage Log with many crutches to complicate the Tacos. It was tasty and simple enough for two – and very substantial. But with the chips, drinks and tacos – it was a bit expensive. On the “Tommy B Restaurant Rating Scale” from “A” to “F” Club Jalapeño gets a “B” – we would have given it a higher rating if they had a few chips without charge, I mean... really????
Visited some friends in Monterey and asked to try a Mexican place while we were out of the West. Our friend brought us here and ran over it. Nice and small was a good way to describe it. The chips and salsa were very good and some of the best I had in a Mexican restaurant. I ordered the Grande Burrito with beef and my SO ordered the Baja Fish Tacos. His food was delicious and good fish. My court was best. The beef was left a little too long on the flat top and burned and crispy. Prices were slightly higher than expected, even for Carmel, so we shot a little deeper on the menu. The service could have been better as a waiter worked all 10-12 tables at once, so things like refilling drinks, questions went on the way. Will give this place another shot when we get out!!
We had a hard time finding this place, but we were happy. Your chips were delicious. They were crispy and also had a slight airiness over them. I wrote this review 5 months after my honeymoon in Carmel and still remembered how good this place was.
We had trouble finding the place and our server's dad came out to greet us after we called for directions! How nice! That's device and the food is so yummy too!
