We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. It was not very busy, so we received excellent service. I had the tortilla soup, which I always enjoy. We also ordered chicken wings, but unfortunately they ran out and we were given chicken fingers instead. Despite this, everything was delicious. What User doesn't like about Islands Restaurants The Shoppes At Carlsbad:
We sat at our table for 45 minutes without any food. At 6:45, we asked for an update because we had to be somewhere. At 7:15, we were told "The food will be out in a minute", but by 7:30, we were advised to probably leave because our meal still wasn't ready. Yummy hamburger, tacos, salate, fritten and funky drinks. inseln thema throughout and videos on TV screens perched high above shows endless scenes of incredible surfing and sometimes extreme snow ski/boarding. fun place for happy hour.
Place was pretty busy, but go us in quick for table for 2. Our server was quick, nice and efficient with the service.Now don't get me started with the food that was hhmmmm on point!! I got the Kilauea(sorry if I chopped the spelling) but is was soo good ? it was a nice visit after we a while.

Good food, good service, slow delivery. I understand that the staffing issues are a challenge, but 15 minutes to wait to sit, 5 minutes to take the order (server was excellent), then 30+ minutes to wait ... For burgers?
Food was really good! Nice environment, friendly servers, and reasonable price.
