Unsure wether people are getting pubs mixed uo but I am reviewing the blue ball in malton. Staying nearby we decided to visit malton to visit the 2 pubs in my heritage pub book. We loved the 18th century blue ball right up our street. Very old fashioned with lots of period features. Tiny little bar that sits in he centre of the pub. Fascinating. The landlady and locals very friendly and the Rev james real ale on form... View all feedback.
What louisehZ6143UQ doesn't like about Blue Bell Inn:
We were on our way to Robin Hoods Bay with some Australian visitors and decided to pop into Malton for a light lunch as we had booked an evening meal at our destination. We went into the Blue Bell Inn and asked about food. We were told they were serving food, then we were told its was only Sunday lunch. We saw the menu which said how much starters were and mains etc, so we thought we would all just have a starter eac... View all feedback.
Went for a meal with 6 other friends on Saturday night and it was amazing everyone was very satisfied and loved what they had, thank you so much Blue Bell Newbiggin.

Needed an easy Saturday bar meal and pint. Wife went for seabass and I took the scampi. Doombar and landlord drinks with great deserts. Perfect food at good prices in a perfect quiet town pub. Recommended.
Lost count of how many times I have visited the Blue Bell since discovering it in 2004. Excellent food and atmosphere on Thursday night when me and my son were stopping nearby for the night on the way back from Ireland. For followers of cycling the Tour of Britain (Stage 5) will be passing by on September 10th and the Blue Bell would be an excellent vantage point to eat, drink and enjoy the cycling.
Staying in nearby Cumrew, this little gem of a pub has friendly staff, great choice of food both meat and vegetarian dishes cooked by the landlady. it 's how a country pub should be. As Arnie said: i 'll be back!
