Château Saint-Martin - Carcassonne

This was fine. The location is very pretty. Service very attentive if a little pretentious. The food was ok, the wine superb.

This restaurant was not far from where we were staying at St Bastide St Martin. This restaurant was very french and traditional. The waiter staff were very professional and friendly. I could not read some of the French dishes so I asked the waitress to let me know in English. My husband decided to try the traditional dish in this region which is Cassoulet. I chose the Duck. Both dishes were lovely but the Cassoulet was so big it could fed about 3 people.

Nous avons mangé un excellent cassoulet. Il est copieux, cuit comme il doit l'être.Le service est parfait, un grand merci à la serveuse pour nous avoir guidé dans le choix du vin qui était parfaitement en harmonie avec notre plat

Tijdens onze vakantie zijn wij hier toevallig verzeild geraakt, en konden mijn vrouw en ik, met onze drie dochters (13jr-18jr-20jr) genieten van de echte Franse keuken; vooral de hoofdgerechten, en nagerechten van de menu ala 36€ werden geapprecieerd omdat het smakenpalet uitgebreid aan bod kwam. Ook de aangeraden wijnen kwamen uitstekend tot hun recht

Tonight we ate a fantastic meal at this restaurant, perhaps one of the best fish dishes I have ever eaten and wonderful deserts of apricot and chocolate. Unfortunately our experience was spoilt by half a dozen flies which persistently irritated my husband who, in turn, irritated me! All in all we felt that this restaurant has huge potential with great food in a fabulous setting. But it was very quiet despite being late July (just 7 customers all evening) which meant that the service was good but the atmosphere lacking.
