Historic and unusual, what a beautiful garden restaurant! I went bc it looked like the coolest place in Santa Cruz, and it maybe is... Open since 1947, and the fantastic bartender has been there 18 years! I had wild boar ribs and a glass of wine. And bread pudding with berries and whipped cream! Awesome lady and her two daughters at the bar made for great conversation, as well. Def loved riding the tram elevator and... View all feedback.
What Nestor Ortega doesn't like about Shadowbrook:
The views were great and the servers were wonderful, but the issue was a very long wait time from ordering are food to actually getting it. We waited for about 2 hours. I dont know about you folks standards but in my opinion this was unacceptable View all feedback.
Great menu and variety. Excellent service and knowledgeable staff. The place is amazing. They have a little gondola that you can ride from the parking lot down to the restaurant that has great views of the garden and restaurant. Definitely worth it. Parking: They are really busy for dinner and the parking lot gets full. Wheelchair accessibility: They have a gondola that can ferry wheelchairs down to the restaurant.

Great views, great food wonderful service! Constantly, it's a great time, every time I go!Menu has something for everyone. All eaters can find something here. My favorite is the gnocchi with the steak on the side. The bacon wrapped prawns are delicious with the 2 dipping sauces. The poke is amazing and comes with wanton chips and many different sauces. The Cesar Salad with white anchovies is absolutely amazing! Their calamari is delicious, the baked brie is also really tasty! The deep fried artichoke hearts are perfectly seasoned. My husband gets the prime rib 12oz, and the chefs always cook is to his liking, which is medium well. Great sides like trumpet mushrooms, creamed spinach, gratin, Brussel sprouts more! They give you fresh warm bread and whipped butter bread, and during your meal, don't be afraid to ask for more they are happy to give. The soups chowder are great! The desserts are always wonderful the drinks are plentiful. There are so many wine, beer cocktail options, and even mocktails for non drinkers.Great for families, they are super attentive with each guest of all ages! I've brought my daughter here, who is 2, they have a large kids menu, high chairs, coloring books even a treasure chest with a toy to choose from at the end. They have noodles, fries, chicken tenders, etc. Every time I've gone there's many families, children, teens, etc.Service 5 stars, especially from Andrew the waiter. He goes above beyond what it means to be an amazing server. He made sure everyone in his section was well taken care of. This was my second time being served by him, and he is very memorable for his kindness funny one liners! He's bilingual too, his spanish is spot on! He sang happy birthday to anyone everyone who wanted it! It's refreshing to see someone love their job! All the people who work here are amazing. This spot ranks high in customer service always! The views are so beautiful! The experience is fun, definitely ride the trolly down also walk up/down the beautiful walkway to see the waterfall landscape. Vegetarian options: At least 4+ options on the menu, especially the appetizers Kid friendliness: Kids menu, highchairs, toy chest, coloring books
