We were in town for a wedding and accidentally discovered this gem of a restaurant. The staff was fantastic, and the food was out of this world with generous portions. They serve the best clam chowder I've ever tasted, and I know my seafood since I'm in the fish business! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Good Table:
I’m not sure where all the glowing reviews are coming from! Four of us were disappointed. The Schellfisch Chowder tasted more like fish cooked in milk—hearty but completely lacking in flavor. The Clam Chowder was slightly better, but still not impressive. Three of us ordered the Ribeye Steaks ($35 each), which turned out to be thin and swimming in a brown gravy with canned mushrooms. I have lived in the Portland area for over 10 years and have driven by this restaurant several times. My partner do date night out and were looking for something different then our regular spots and we decided to pull in. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The food was phenomenal. We had the Brie and head of garlic and fruit for an appetizer. He had the steak with mashed potato and I the burger with their frittered onion rings. We also had cocktails and dessert. Their cheese cake was a hit. I had the gluten free chocolate cup cake it was decadent and you could not tell it was GF. Our Server was amazing and can't thank Julie enough on her suggestions and superior customer service. We have made this a new date night go to. Thank you for a great first experience!
