What debbie2110 likes about The Peter Cushing J D Wetherspoon:
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! I had low expectations but was blown away by the beautifully designed interior, featuring art deco theatre decor with large black and white pictures and hanging lights. The customers were friendly and we even had a conversation about the history of the place. The staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful, and genuinely nice (not just putting on a forced smile). Went with two family members and we all had the fish and chips. Large piece of fish until you realise it's about 70% batter, over cooked and contains fish that hasn't seen the sea in a while. Mushy peas were like water and chips bland. I checked the menu and it definitely said cod, but it wasn't like any cod I have had in the past, almost mushy texture. View all feedback.

Nestled in the charming coastal town of Whitstable, the Peter Cushing pub stands out not just for its celebrated namesake but also for its striking art deco architecture, originally an old cinema. Guests appreciate the friendly atmosphere, prompt service, and low prices, typical of Wetherspoon establishments. While some diners found the food lacking in quality, many rave about the inviting decor and unique character of the venue. Whether enjoying a hearty breakfast or a drink in the spacious beer garden, patrons agree that the pub offers a delightful experience, combining nostalgia with a vibrant community vibe. A true gem worth visiting!.
