Best Western Abbots Barton - Canterbury

I booked this hotel for a group booking for us and our wedding guests last September for July this year.. To be cancelled 8 weeks before my wedding and having the stress of finding another hotel... Customer service was awful and gave us an added stress that wasn't needed so close to our wedding date. We should have been told when booking that they was doing a government scheme for refuges and ends June but could go on....

Cancelled a large booking of £4000 7 weeks before our stay. Couldn't accommodate the whole party only a few elsewhere. Poor customer relations being passed around from person to person even finding out someone who supposedly left is actually still working. Granted its cancelled because of migrants. But the booking was taken while in the government scheme. This should of been mentioned upon booking almost a year in advanced. Wouldn't recommend staying here on customer skills alone. Shocking. If the hotel respond to say this is false details I have all the call recordings and email history to back uo their deceitful lies.

I was a guest at a wedding here and it is in a convenient location near the city centre with more than adequate parking. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel looked well cleaned and cared for. The venue is perfect for a wedding with an adequate sized function room with good toilet facilities for guests. I was due to actually stay at the hotel overnight but due to the government putting up migrants there other guests and I had to book into a hotel over the road overnight instead which was slightly problematic as we had bad weather on the day of the wedding and had to walk about 600 metres in the rain after the evening function finished.

We had afternoon tea a very warm welcome from a member of staff called Megan a lovely young lady so happy in her job. Shown to our table lovely views comfortable chairs never once felt rushed. Excellent food lovely sandwiches cakes and scones all home made. As many pots of tea and coffee that you want. Will recommend to family friends excellent well done really enjoyed wonderful

Enjoying our stay. Friendly welcome. Large 'classic ' room is spotless with large bed and enough room for my yoga mat. Rug on floor for our dog. 10 minutes walk into the city. Perfect for our needs.
