Absolutely loved the place, we went with 2 toddlers and are vegetarian.... The staff was so courteous and even encouraging for children...they also had sharp potatoes along with mushrooms as an option. After a long time we enjoyed drinks in a non-RSL type place, not that we don't like RSL... it was a welcoming and good change. Yummy food, good music and amazing cocktails. View all feedback.
What Mauricio Stracke doesn't like about Honkytonks:
from sydney, after dinner a drink stopped. there was a dj who played great melodies. I had a bit of a boogie beside our table to enjoy myself and then what I can guess was the manager who mentioned above kerl in others. posts, sport a black cap, came to me and said: "no dancing aloud"! what? left. rude, aggressive behavior. do not worry about this place, canberra have beautiful places and people. Well after reading some reviews i was unsure but really wanted Mexican food. So we gave out a go. Servings were a good size, had beef nachos and pork chiminchanga and salad. Yes if the chips would be warmed the meal would of been served warmer. But the flavor was there and staff friendly. I felt the sangria was a but sour so i added lemonade which made it quite nice. Very relaxed atmosphere. Happy to eat here again.

Fairly healthy nachos, tasty but needed to be heated a bit more to melt cheese. Otherwise great selection of beers and the menu sounded greatz
Cool atmosphere and decor. I had been longing for some Mexican food and this did the trick. Reasonable price overall.
After reading some positive reviews, we decided to visit honkytonks. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing and service was mediocre at best. Cold nachos, hardened peppers and wet chimichangas were served with at least 30% of most dishes left due to temperature and taste. Good bar but eat elsewhere.
