Tucked away in a historic building, this hidden gem of a restaurant offers a delicious lunch and a satisfying breakfast. It's a favorite spot for city leaders, and the atmosphere is truly authentic. I enjoyed a delicious club sandwich, potato soup, and the most amazing coconut cream pie. A must-visit spot in Cameron. View all feedback.
I have been seeing posts about the menu at DutchTowne Deli Cafe almost daily from my cousin. Every time I saw them, I thought it looked good. Unfortunately, they are almost a three-hour drive away from me. Yesterday, I finally decided it was time to make the trip. A friend and I drove out of Houston and let me tell you, it was definitely worth the journey! When we walked in, the aroma of delicious food pulled us right through the door and to our table. We were lucky to have Chastity as our waitress, and the excellent service only added to our experience. We never had to ask for drink refills and she was always there to check if we needed anything at all. She informed us that the special of the day was roasted pork fillet, potatoes, green beans, and their famous bread pudding. Our food arrived promptly and was hot and delicious. The sauce that accompanied the pork was unique and flavorful. The meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The potatoes and beans were also cooked perfectly. After our meal, we had a great selection of different cakes for dessert. However, what really caught my eye was the mouthwatering bread pudding that had been staring at me since the moment I walked in. I can see why they are famous for their bread pudding – it was out of this world delicious! Sweet, moist, and accompanied by a fantastic sauce. The best part was that they sell it by the pan, so I took some home. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, with nostalgic decorations and a rich history. Chastity even shared with me that the place used to be called Papa John's many years ago, which brought back fond memories of going there with my father and uncle when I was young. It made the experience even more special for me. If you ever find yourself driving through Cameron or want to take a little day trip for a fantastic meal and a touch of history, make sure to stop at DutchTowne Deli Cafe. You won't be disappointed. Thank you, Chastity and DutchTowne Deli Cafe, for the delicious meal and trip down memory lane. I will definitely be back soon.
