What Alivia Feest doesn't like about Russell House Tavern:
Ambiance was decent and wait staff was good. Other than that nothing else I can say positively bout this placeOur meals were luke warm, blend and some of the sides had no taste to them whatsoever. While they have a bar and there own cocktails if you ask for something not on the menu, u probably wont get it. And yes, unfortunately even the cocktail drinks we did order tasted horrible. Came for Saturday brunch with friends. I've been here many times for both dinner and brunch, and have always found it to be a well-run restaurant. This time I had the breakfast sandwich with a spicy ****** Mary. Both were delicious. Others at the table enjoyed their meals too. Service was prompt and efficient. The Russell House is one of the best destinations for brunch in Harvard Square.
Easy fun good food. Great location. Just a bit loud
3 of us had dinner there for the first time. The hostess tried to seat us in the basement but I requested we sit upstairs where there are windows. She was very accommodating. I was disappointed that there are so few mocktails they offer and the bartender wasn’t able to make a raspberry lime Rickey. Yet my bolognese was delicious, as was my husband’s chopped salad. Dinner portions are a decent size.
We were sat in the bar area where it was super loud filled with guys for a work gathering. We were not offered a more quiet place to sit and our server was inattentive and rushed us. The food was great for the value. Next time I go I’ll be sure to ask to be seated downstairs in the main dining area!
Lovely warm welcome from everyone our server was delightful. The cookie skillet dessert was recommended and absolutely delicious.
