There is no signage on the exterior building or the street to identify this restaurant. Once inside, it seems caught in the early 2000s with updates taped over original signs. What Alexandra Orellana doesn't like about Sushi Express In Wash:
Used to be good. I just got a chirashi bowl. It had a one-inch thin piece of salmon, one small thin piece of white fish, one shrimp, and two small pieces of egg. Lots of rice. Disappointing for the price. I won’t be getting lunch from them again. View all feedback.
The sushi rice was very smushy and the fish quality was average at best :
Wonderful food! The cheapest best tasting sushi in DC! Definitely worth going, if you’re having trouble finding it it’s on the top floor in the business building
It's hiding, don't be scared when you walk in the building! It's up the stairs on the right. Best value sushi spot in town!
My go-to place near the office. The veggie special is my personal favorite!

A 2-person operation, service may take a bit of time while they are working to complete an order or maintain the restaurant. The food is classic sushi construction and a true delight with fresh fish with a miniscule dab of wasabi atop sushi rice. The dish I ordered included an option of salad or miso and I truly enjoyed. It was slightly creepy eating in the quiet corporate lobby area outside the restaurant and, if I had the powers, I would love to see this place picked out of the building and plopped into a street facing space.
