A mix of Japanese and Ethiopian cuisine creates a unique dining experience. Sushi is well done, and the menu caters to various tastes. Worth trying for a different culinary blend. Every time I come here they make me like family and such a cozy place definitely worth a visit. View all feedback.
The abayi (minced beef, onion, jalapeño, and butter) is the sandwich in the city, bar none. It?s a pity that it?s only available on weekends, because this thing is exceptional, with the kind of perfectly-balanced heat that sneaks up and lendssavor to a dish without overpowering it. You should expect a fifteen to twenty minute wait for this sandwich, but that?s fine -I promise, you?re not doing anything better with your time. Especially since the tiny, cozy Mita is a fine place to hang outwith a good book or a friend. The abayi is $16, and more than worth every penny.
I ordered Salmon Wrap and it was great! The vibe of the restaurant was cozy and the owners were very nice people. I had a little chat with them and it was heartwarming to hear their story of moving to DC and running a restaurant together. I?ll definitelycome back! Highly recommend it!
Absolutely Amazing Chai tea, wonderful ambiance, and a kind owner. I look forward to trying the sandwiches and sushi next time.
Stubbled at this place looking for sushi, surprised to find a place with such good quality and it being an Ethiopian fusion. Place is neat and has a nice vibe to it, would definitely recommend
What a neighborhood gem! Finally stopped in after wondering about this place for a while and I'm so glad we did! In case you're wondering about the mix of food, the owners are a Japanese sushi chef husband and an Ethiopian chef wife. The food is great! Wetried the small sushi platter and it was wonderful (and plenty of food for two) , can't wait to go back to try the Ethiopianfood and sandwiches. They also have amazing coffee, which isn't surprising given that Ethiopia is obsessed with great coffee.Try this place out, you won't be disappointed!!
