Contribute FeedbackGolden Tree, a cherished Chinese restaurant in Calumet City, has delighted patrons for nearly 40 years with its authentic cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. Renowned for its excellent service and generous portions, this family-run establishment has become a favorite for both locals and visitors alike. Diners rave about the flavorful offerings, including a standout shrimp in lobster sauce and perfectly spiced Mongolian beef. Despite the occasional mixed review, many reflect fondly on the restaurant as a nostalgic part of their family traditions. With reasonable prices and consistently satisfying meals, Golden Tree remains a beloved destination for Chinese food enthusiasts.
This place is horrible. The egg rolls are tough and chewy. The won ton soup has zero flavor. The chop suey sauce tastes like it has way too much sugar in it and it tastes like they cooked it too long. The only good thing about the meal was the almond cookie. I am sure they don't make those there.
First time coming today but the owner was really nice and thoughtful.. Since I bought so much he open the door and made sure I was safe due to inclement weather going out. Singapore noodles is one of the best I had ever tasted. Everything was delicious and very reasonable. I will be a returning customer from now on.
Maybe the best Chinese food in the South Burbs. The orange chicken is delicious. This place never disappoints. I've been visiting for about 20 years now. I've never had a bad meal here. The homemade hot sauce is so darn good. Also try the pineapple chicken. It's very well made.
The atmosphere here is fantastic, the chef's choice is outstanding and the staff are always wonderful. Make a reservation and it won't disappoint!
I LOVE this place. I've visited lots of casual Chinese restaurants all over Chicago and this is one of my favorite spots if not the best. The man that runs the place is super friendly, and super busy- answers calls, cooking, serving and manning the register and he is FAST. I love ordering off the lunch special menu because you get delicious egg drop soup, and egg rolls. You are always served tea when you sit in and it is so comforting, one of my favorite aspects. So comforting. I recommend the Mongolian beef if you like spicy foods, and you can never go wrong with sweet and sour chicken. Today I tried the shrimp lo mein, because I had a taste for sea food. This is a lovely casual place and I've been telling all my friends and family about it.
