House Of Better - CALISTOGA

We went here after a wine event in Calistoga this past weekend. We just wanted a casual meal and the yelp reviews made us try this place. Overall, we loved it. The prices were fair (especially for Napa valley) and the food was fresh and delicious. I had one of their bowls and even though I don't really like squash or zucchini that much, the flavor of the rest of the bowl had me eating almost all of it. It was definitely a healthy bowl of goodness and my body was happy to receive it. My husband ordered a chicken burrito and it was humongous! Even the staff commented on the size of it. It took him a bit before he got to the chicken, but there was plenty in there and the flavor was really good. He enjoyed it and almost managed to eat the entire thing. The pizzas/flatbread looked really good and we plan on ordering that next time we are in the area. We ate outside and it is really cute. Lots of colorful chairs, cornhole, swings and I think they said hammocks on the other side of the building. The staff were really sweet and accommodating and we had a great experience. We will definitely be coming back!

Ordered a breakfast burrito. Asked for black beans (might have paid extra for them) and they forgot to put them in. The chips were stale, I went up as told them and asked for a few fresh ones to eat with my meal. They never came. Saw them looking over at our table. But seems like they decided against it. The food was ok not great in my opinion. Bad service

Wow... food is so fresh and tasty. I had the naked burrito bowl with carne! Hubby had a breakfast bowl with steak. He said he was yummy as well, but will opt for mine next time. There is a bit of a kick in spice to mine, but worth it. Service was quick as you walk up and order. Clean and cute atmosphere.

Great ambiance! You order at the window and seat yourself. We had the pepper green apple pie! Great flavor pairings. The tables have fun little fans that keep the bugs away. Visitors can play cornhole or giant Jenna on the lawn.
