Cracker Barrel - California

Cracker Barrel Southern Fried chicken is up there as some of the Best Fried Chicken! You get 4 pieces of chicken (with honey). Today apos;s meal came with 2 breasts, leg and a wing. Guessing they were out of thighs. This chicken, whatever seasonings they use, has a lot of FLAVOR! I could only eat one breast along with their sides. I choose the macaroni and cheese along with their loaded mashed potatoes. The mac cheese was delicious! Their mashed potatoes are more on the consistency side of a baked potato. The look and taste is of a baked potato. There is definitely no milk in these potatoes to make them authentic homemade creamy mashed potatoes. Although they were still very good. Have enough chicken and biscuits for leftovers. Would definitely recommend this meal, if you want something different than fast food chicken and they have a long list of good sides to choose from.

Ordered Momma apos;s French Toast Breakfast and Mmmm Mac n’ Cheese Food was cold. The mac n cheese had chunks of burnt cheese it. (It was for my daughter who politely picked out the burnt pieces. Very disappointed, Cracker Barrel is a family favorite!! Will still order again, this has never happened before and I won apos;t hold a grudge for one bad order. Everyone has an off day amd normally both things I ordered today are hot delicious!

The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I asked for sweetened tea and it wasnt sweetened. The food was delicious! I ordered the Homestyle Chicken n French toast. Plenty of French toast and cooked perfectly! Along with their pure maple syrup. The chicken was surprisingly oh my gosh soooo good! Crunchy batter (without being too crunchy) the seasonings in the batter, delicious and the chicken was nice and tender. Also ordered 2 eggs over medium. Cooked perfectly! So if you cant decide between breakfast or lunch. This would be a great option! Definitely would recommend!

The biscuits tops were black as night and the hash browns were so under done they were crunchy. Absolutely horrendous. Typical St. Marys county. "Raise prices, and lower the quality", the St. Marys County mantra.

For Cracker Barrel this was a DISAPPOINTING breakfast. I ordered the Grandpas Country Fried Breakfast. This person in the kitchen doesnt know how to cook. I ordered 2 fried eggs over medium. The eggs were runny with raw egg and undercooked. Ewww! That is why, I prefer over medium eggs. The gravy on the chicken fried steak was horrible. No flavor, tasted like flour. The gravy was made with too much FLOUR! It had a gummy consistency! Same with the gravy you got on the side with the biscuits! The gravy in the bowl is nothing but a clump of unflavored FLOUR (VERY PASTEY, ! Doesnt taste or have the consistency of gravy! The biscuits could have been cooked another 2 or 3 minutes. Lightly browned and fell apart with a almost too soft center! I wanted a hearty breakfast! Need a better cook in the kitchen! Very seldom, have I been disappointed with Cracker Barrel. What a waste of money!
