Sakana Grill - Calgary

Came here for dinner with some friends one evening. We ordered the dinner for two which they cooked right in front of us. Food was tasty and plentiful.

Ordered take out. Sushi was garbage and I wanted 40min and couldnt leave because they wouldnt give me a refund so had to wait. Never go to this garbage restaurant

My littlest sister loves this place- because it's economical on a student budget. I won't come back again. The place is filthy. The floors are disgusting, the tables sticky. The menus are tacky. My concern is what the hell is going on in the kitchen if the actual restaurant eating area is so dirty.As for the food, all the rolls taste the same. The sushi pizza was over fried resulting in crunchy, not crispy rice. The flaming dragon roll was meh. The rainbow roll rice tasted- stale. The teppinyaki was skillfully done and made for a great show- and the salmon and Veges tasted great. People come here because it's downtown and cheap. Cheap sushi is not fresh sushi, and sorry nothing can compensate for a genuinely dirty restaurant

Food 3.5/Service 0 Was so disappointed with the service from the MANAGER - Kathy. Wow. How could she be so rude, abrupt and inattentive? A manager! Who do we go to with such an attitude issue? We couldn't understand why she was even serving when there were plenty of other servers working? Food-wise, we were all happy with our meals. Maybe the sashimi could be a little bit colder but overall it was okay. Appears they no longer give you complimentary frozen grapes at the end of the meal. Will take our business to Tokachi located a block away now!

We went for Mother's Day on Saturday night and ordered appies, wine and filet with shrimp. The food was good, however the service was really bad. Our waitress forgot our rice and did not check with us once on how the food was. Other staff served us and they were great. Then we got the bill and she tried to rip us off for $22.50! Instead of the 3 filet and shrimp for $29, she tried to charge us for 3 new Yorkers @ $29 and 3 shrimp for $22.50 She came to us 3 times telling us we were wrong until we finally looked at the menu and the prices and she corrected the bill. 3 times! I left stressed when I should have left happy.
