Had an amazing time with my family, we celebrated my birthday early as I may not be in town. A couple things that were a little disappointing was we had to wait for about 10-15 mins for our table even though we had reservations for 6. Not a huge deal but once seated we were advised by our server before any kind of menu introductions or drink discussions that we only have 2 hours as someone will be waiting for our tab... What User doesn't like about Modern Steak Kensington:
Food was great, but entrees arrived extremely late after appetizers. Server claimed it was due to staff shortage with Modern Ocean also serving dinner. We had to wait for over 3 hours for the entire meals. View all feedback.
Excellent meal and remote place. the oysters were fantastic and we enjoyed and the selection of the appetizers.
That is one of the best meal we had. our server was very informative and friendly. and the baked alaska- my quality- insanely delicious!
The staff ate popcorn when we waited for our food. the restaurant was booked, but there were no one. the oysters were the only thing we ordered. the whispers have no taste. the thunfishtar was dry and the steak season on it was not compliment of thunfish. everything was overwhelming.
The overall dining experience is OK, but the food needs some work. The dish we took exception to was the Risotto, it was a little bland with very little seafood in the dish. The Sable Fish was good, but the portion size was surprisingly small given the price. We would recommend the Ahi Tuna, as that was the dish that met our expectations.
Hard to rate the food as we were so cold by the time we finished eating we were to numb to notice anything. We were seated beside to space heater but not much help. Noticed the bathroom was warm so furnace was working but not where we were Our overall experience was effected by this as we did voice our concerns but perhaps because we had a 5 pm reservation maybe the heater had helped the later crowd
