What User doesn't like about Leopold’s Tavern Calgary Bowness:
Food was decent. My colleagues recommended this place for lunch so went by myself before I had to go to work, and it took forever. By the time my food got to me I had to ask for the bill because I had to leave. I think that maybe if they took my order faster I would have gotten my food faster? It was busy, but it felt like because I was alone that the other tables were prioritized above me. Which makes sense from a t... View all feedback.
I was really looking forward to ordering from this restaurant, as I've had good experiences in the past. Unfortunately, this time was disappointing. The buffalo chicken wrap I received was more like a soggy stir-fry wrap with barely any chicken in it. Additionally, even though we only live a few minutes away, we had to wait 15 minutes at the restaurant for our food, which caused it to cool down by the time we sat down to eat. While I know this may not be the norm, today’s experience was quite underwhelming. Honestly, I would have preferred a meal from McDonald's, and it would have saved me some money too.
We've been seeing social media posts about poutine for a few months and finally decided to give it a try ourselves. It's safe to say we were not disappointed! We had the cheeseburger poutine and the crispy BBQ rancher poutine, and both were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back! The atmosphere and décor here are also a great bonus—it's a really nice place for a date night.
Classic pub atmosphere—exactly what you'd expect. The vibe is great with some fantastic music, and the place was bustling with energy! The staff was incredibly busy but managed to keep everything running smoothly. I will definitely return! My only critique would be that the nachos were a bit dry and had minimal cheese on them, which was disappointing. However, I still give it 5 stars for the rest of the food and the overall pub ambiance!
The restaurant was quite busy, featuring numerous tables to accommodate guests. The staff were friendly, but it took some time for our orders to be taken and for the food to arrive. The Thanksgiving poutine needed a bit more cranberry sauce and stuffing, as there were only a few croutons included. When we requested the bill, we also had to wait a while for that to be brought to us. There is definitely room for improvement in management, as a more efficient system could allow for quicker service and help more guests enjoy their experience. I recommend visiting when you don’t have other commitments, as the atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and enjoying time with friends, complete with food and a variety of music.
On the downside, the music was too loud for the number of patrons in the restaurant. When it's full, it might be fine, but when it was only half full, it was quite jarring and made it hard to have a conversation with my family. There was a slight wait, but nothing that upset me too much. Overall, it was a great experience!
