Contribute FeedbackEnsira, a new Ethiopian restaurant in Calgary, offers a dining experience that is both authentic and delightful. The menu features a variety of delicious dishes, from meat options like beef, chicken, and lamb to excellent vegetarian choices, all served on traditional injera bread. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly owners who welcome guests with open arms. The service is attentive, and the servers are knowledgeable about the menu, helping diners make the best choices. The food is flavorful and outstanding, with the option to bring your own bottle of wine to complement the flavors. The restaurant also offers a traditional coffee ceremony to finish off the meal, adding a special touch to the experience. Whether you are a fan of Ethiopian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Ensira is highly recommended. The only possible drawbacks are the limited wine selection and the lack of chicken options for those who do not enjoy lamb. However, overall, Ensira provides a truly memorable dining experience that is worth repeating.
Great family style restaurant. Very authentic. We had a wonderful experience with four of our children. Very unique flavours. The staff was very helpful and attentive. If you don't like lamb, I wouldn't eat here.
The food at this restaurant was delicious, but the portion sizes were smaller than expected considering the prices. The service was difficult due to the language barrier with our server, who struggled to communicate in English. Upon inquiring about corkage fees, we were quoted $55. We decided to choose a house Shiraz (Copper Moon) instead, which turned out to be $55 for a bottle that usually retails for around $7. Overall, the food was good but significantly overpriced.
This was our first time dining at this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. We will definitely be returning in the future.
The food was excellent, and I can't wait to come back. The server was friendly. The wine choices were a bit limited, but it wasn't a big deal. We had difficulty figuring out how to leave a tip on the card machine since there was no option for it, and the server didn't understand our inquiries.
The waiter was fantastic! They consistently made sure we had everything we needed and were very efficient. The food was delicious. The only drawback was that they only had one variety of sambusa and limited chicken options. The atmosphere was excellent.
