La Maison des Saisons - Cabriès

My credit card did not work when I went to pay the bill. I phoned my bank and was told that there was no problem with the card and the problem had to be on the restaurant 's end. I tried 4 more times to pay but it was declined each time. My partner drove to a cash machine but again the card did not work. Unfortunately it was the only card either of us had. We didn 't know what to do and we were both visibly upset. The owner was getting very impatient with us at this point. Because I don 't speak French, my friend told him that I was willing to leave my drivers license and come back and pay the bill tomorrow. However I asked if I could have a written receipt saying that he was keeping my drivers license until I paid, which I thought was a fair thing to ask for. Apparently, this enraged him to the point that, having grabbed my license out of my hand, waving it around, he said that he would shove it up my , that he would break my head , and that i should go back to the US . Of course, all of this was not said in a calm manner, but in a loud highly aggressive tone. We were trying our best to come up with a solution to this problem, but he was not helpful, he was not understanding, he was threatening me physically after my partner and I came up with a solution, a solution he accepted, but didn 't like the fact that I wanted a receipt for my US drivers license. We were nothing but calm in dealing with this gentleman, and when he raised his voice I asked him in English to please calm down and take some breaths. I take full responsibility for leaving home this morning without another card or with cash. I am truly sorry for that, and I will go back and re-pay this restaurant and retrieve my drivers license the next day they are open, so help me. However, no customer who is having a legitimate problem with his/her credit card and who is honestly trying to come up with a solution deserves to be physically threatened by the owner and told to go back to the country from where you came.

Visited this place twice in December and both times it was excellent. Whether you go for their weekend-only pizza or grilled meats or the Armenisan touch to the cuisine, or the very friendly team, they will not disappoint.

This restaurant serves top quality food at a very reasonable price. The service is always wonderful and Stephane is the ultimate host. We have visited this warm friendly family run establishment many times and everyone we recommend it to also falls in love with it!

Eating outdoors!! Very friendly staff and helpful with kids necessities!! Their pizza is excellent and plenty of choices!!
