My sister and I were debating whether to eat here or the sundae place next door and ended up making the right decision coming here. The place is very nice and well kept. We ordered one slice of red velvet and one slice of chocolate truffle cake. This was in the afternoon so we were one of two tables. We got our cake quickly. Recently, my I-Spy-With-My-Coffee-Eye zeroed in on a young hipster on his way to work downtown. I blinked, seeing him clutching a paper cup with the logo of Burnaby Heights' own Oui Paris Cafe.As of late, there’s been a surging transformation in Burnaby's café scene where aficionados have their pick of sophisticated local coffee. Think of the revitalized Chez Christophe and the addition of newbies Fondway Cafe and Caritas 9. So on Stop 65 of our weekly Search for Vancouver's Best Coffee, we visit Oui Paris Café which is an independent in Burnaby Heights that’s also undergone a transformation under a new owner as of last December. In fact, we live close to this coffee shop which originally opened April 2014.
I wanted to treat my wonderful wife to a desert as wonderful as she is. I ordered a Nanaimo Bar and a small Lava Cake and I have never tasted better. The Lava Cake was spongy and the chocolate was rich and delicious. The Nanaimo Bar was so close to my Omma’s it brought back happy childhood memories. I would absolutely return if in the area and craving a tasty treat.
I happened upon this cafe when I was looking for coffee nearby. There was nothing to eat that was vegan, but my friend had a cannoli and a macaron. I liked the decor here and their coffee was very good. If you're looking for pastries, there are lots to choose from here.
I've been meaning to stop by as the shop looks lovely from the outside. I ventured in to find that it's just as lovely on the inside. The space is well arranged and comfortable. I ordered a latte and croissant, both of which were delicious. The staff were friendly too. Don't let the reviews scare you off, I think most must be from before the new management took over. I will definitely be back!

Service was good as they checked on us. I think I'll be back. Surprised about the negative reviews below but I definitely had a good first experience.
