Always on the look out for a great bowl of pho and Ha Cafe delivered. I had the rare beef pho and a chicken banh mi. Pho had perfectly balanced flavour, not too much anise. Beautiful cloudy broth and it is served with the sprouts already in the broth if you like steamed beansprouts like I do this is perfect. Lemongrass chicken banh mi was full of flavour and balanced with the warm chicken and cool veggies fresh and d... View all feedback.
What Ben W doesn't like about Ha Vietnamese:
I went to this restaurant when I was in that area and wanted to have a simple Vietnamese meal. It seems to be a small family business run by just 3 people. Beside the Vietnamese cuisine the offer also simple western food like sandwiches and pancakes. The service is friendly. But unfortunately they have only a limited ability to speak in English. Nevertheless, they recommended Grilled Pork with Spring Rolls. So I orde... View all feedback.
Friendly and expedient service. Seafood Pho is very tasty and a nice serving size. The restaurant is small and busy, apparently popular in the neighbourhood among Vietnamese and other customers.
I still prefer Hong Pho on Kingsway more than Ha Cafe near Crystal Mall. However, Ha Cafe is convenient to pass by : <br/ <br/ They are authentic and lovely soup based noodles. Good portion and reasonable pricing.
Hello friends! It’s been a while since I’ve gotten a nice bowl of hot comforting pho in my belly. Okay, that’s a lie, I had some last week at Mr. Red Cafe but I can’t help but want some when it’s rainy outside. Which is pretty much all the time if you’re living in Vancouver but I love it here so I’ll put up with it.
I was just looking for a good place to have lunch near Metro Town and came across this absolute gem. I usually save Pho for rainy Vancouver days so I decided to try something else on the menu. <br/ <br/ They recommended the Pork Bahn Mi sandwich which I've had a recent obsession with since trying my first one only months ago. Everything about this sandwich was delicious from the crusty bread to the sweet tender pork inside. <br/ <br/ I also tried the shrimp salad wrap as an appetizer which was pretty decent, I liked the sauce more than anything. I find a lot of pho places I've been to don't seem to take the time to make a good sauce and they are usually very peanuty and overly thick, but this one had all the right elements which was light and tasty.
Ha Cafe is a hidden gem that’s found in the Old Orchard Shopping Centre on Kingsway and Willingdon in Burnaby. With all of the other development going on in the area, I figure it’s only a matter of time before they redevelop this old-school shopping complex.<br/ <br/ Whenever someone mentions chicken wings in Vancouver, the comparisons to Phnom Penh always come up. The Spicy Chicken Wings at Ha Cafe are pretty good but don’t quite compare. The wings are encased in a nice crust that is more crunchy than it is crispy.<br/ <br/ The Special Beef Noodle Soup comes with beef brisket, rare beef, tripe, and beef balls whereas the Beef Stew Noodle Soup has chunks of beef brisket, carrot, and radish.<br/ <br/ The large bowl of noodles is perfect for warming your tummy and the broth has a good flavour to it.<br/ <br/ Overall, I quite enjoy my meals here. Take a look at our last visit here.
