What User doesn't like about The Gryphon:
burgers were raw (as with uncokestem groundbeef directly from the food area) in the inner. sweet potato pork afteros had barely cheese, and the black tasted bad. this restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and woodwork, but eating is much too expensive. View all feedback.

First, I walked in without a reservation, but since I was only one person they were willing to seat me at the bar. The host didn't even notice me for a few minutes because he was on his phone taking a personal call. Once I was seated at the bar it took the bartender awhile to answer any questions or even take my order, even when I tried to get his attention. Once I ordered though I received much better service and the food was awesome! I had the seafood grits starter and the duck quesadilla. It wasn't what I went in there for (the menu on Google is out dated), but enjoyed both nonetheless.
The food was good, however the service was lacking. We had a 6:30 reservation and at 7:30 after we had dinner,, dessert and drinks we were rushed along. We were not there for an overly long time. Wouldn't go again because if we can't sit for a few and enjoy ourselves, We are better off spending our money someplace else.
Nice place. Kinda small, but great food and service.
Stopped in at this restaurant establishment at approximately 7pm this evening. We’ve been traveling for days, lost track of Valentine’s DY, however the hostess was possibly the most unfriendly, discourteous and unquestionably rude human being that we’ve encountered in years. She offered us one seat at the end of the bar and invited the other to “stand and wait until another seat becomes available”. Had the hostess had a modicum of decorum, she would have immediately recognized that the appropriate response to our request for seating was to explain, with kindness, that there was no seating available without a reservation due to the holiday. Instead she was expressly and unnecessarily insolent, becoming wholly and solely the reason for our disappointment and desire to avoid this establishment in the future.
