Greeted by a pleasant but not very animated host. Waitress was fine but nothing special for what was a birthday dinner they were aware of the special oak occasion in our reservation but did not ask or acknowledge). Charcuterie was store bought meats and cheese. Nothing special. I can get Gouda, Brie and manchego at Costco. I had the braised short ribs. The fat cap was 1/4 inch thick and not rendered down all the way and they were covered in what appeared to be a jarred pepper jelly. Salmon special was good. Brisket sandwich was Mostly onions and slaw. Vocalist for the evening had a great voice. Next time we would probably hit the diner next door. I wanted a special meal, not just another average dinner.

N... read more Michelle’s Kitchen Table is such a delightful little gem. I love going there when we visit our daughter at Elon. The food is simply outstanding no other word. New York quality in the heart of Burlington. Creative menu choices something to satisfy everyone’s palate. So much thought and effort clearly goes into the presentation as well. We highly recommend the salads, small plates such as the fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese fritters, as well as the burger, fillet and shrimp and grits. All ingredients are fresh and your food is arrives hot. The other thing they do very well is hire attentive wait staff who time your meal well you never feel rushed. It was the perfect date night with my husband tucked away in a cozy, romantic booth. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing evening. Look forward to seeing you again during Elon Parents’ Weekend!

Both the grilled chicken on my salad and the tuna on my husband's dish tasted strongly of gas, as if the flames were not properly extinguished before coming into contact with the food. My husband ordered his tuna cooked medium, but it was hardly cooked at all. We had to send it back, leaving him to watch me eat while I watched him struggle to eat something that was not only unacceptable but also priced unreasonably high. We had dined at this restaurant before and enjoyed it, but based on this experience, I highly doubt we will be returning. It was a very disappointing experience, to say the least.

But overall the food was very good and the musician that played guitar was also very good. We will go back!
