What Walda Chesnut doesn't like about Bleu Northeast Kitchen:
A nice place to eat in downtown Burlington, VT with good food and live music. A few gf options available on menu and our waitress checked with the kitchen to make sure food was safe. We ate here a few years ago and the menu seemed more adaptable. My husband’s chicken dish had nice seasonal flavors of delicata squash, kale, and pomegranate juice. My oysters were delicious. My Arctic Char was served over a harissa sauc... View all feedback.
Had a very good experience here. Good seafood and they had heady topper readily available. Seafood was fresh and very tasty.
Came here for brunch. Pictured is the lobster frittata. Excellent service. Def. paying a bit extra for the seafood ingredients.
Absolutely loved this place! We were in town for a single day, because Burlington was the first stop with an 8-day rally with our Mini Cooper. We hadn't really researched where we were eating and just happened in this place. The view was breathtaking view of Lake Champlain when the sunset woke! Ismar, our waiter, was excellent! We were torn between the Lobster Roll and the Monkfish and went with the monk on the basis of his recommendation, as in his words "Hummer Rolls are available in many places, the monk is not " SPOT ON MY FRIEND!!! Now that's the thing. I ordered not to call paprika (allergy) When he broke it out, it had pepper in it. It happens to me more often, then you can imagine. Generally, they take my back to the kitchen and I sit and wait while I encourage my husband to eat his so it won't get cold. This was the absolute FIRST time that a server takes our two plates back to be restored so that we can eat together! We need to enjoy our meal together, which is great for food like us, as we like to talk about what we eat. Food is finally a social experience. There was a 2 piece musical group in the neighboring lounge that made the experience even better if it is possible at all. Go!
The people working were very friendly. However, it appeared that their was only one server for the entire restaurant. We had appetizers and 1 drink. Food was a mix bag. Oysters were $21 and you got 6 of the smallest Oysters I have ever seen. Marinated olives were great considering we got what looked like 2 jars worth. The third dish was excellent. I was just disappointed because we wanted to order entrees but were worried we would miss our remaining evening plans. Great beer and drink selection.
This is one of the very best restaurants in Burlington. Beautiful menu, fresh ingredients (exceptional), lake view (indoors), fine and friendly service. Breakfast and dinner menus are outstanding. Artisanal beverages highest quality all the way around.
