What Jam J Baker doesn't like about Dukes Cafe:
The loud music made it hard to have a conversation with my companion. As a barista, I was disappointed to receive coffee that tasted like instant coffee and was served in a home-like cup. Sadly, I do not plan on visiting this restaurant again. View all feedback.
I visited when in buncrana end of April 2024. Had seen good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I'm coeliac. Choice of gluten free bread, and I chose Dundee cake. A good sized portion and delicious. Choice of milks and the American coffee was lovely. My friend had a almond square which was delicious. Staff efficient and friendly, good seating, supervalue next door
I had been working hard all day in Stranolar and then had to head to Carndonagh for some evening work. Feeling tired, I decided to stop for a coffee at the Coffee Cup. The lovely lady working there made me a double shot Americano and served me a delicious apple crumble with cream and custard on the side, all heated up and absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and talkative, and I found out that the woman serving me had a relative working in the same field as me. And all of this cost me less than five Euros. Where else can you get such great value? This coffee shop is located on Cockhill Road, just outside of Buncrana. It is across from the old fire station, which is now a Red Cross station. There is street parking available, as well as a SuperValu supermarket across the street. While there are no toilets in the coffee shop, you can use the facilities at SuperValu. Stop by if you're feeling tired or just passing through - the bright colors and helpful staff will surely brighten your day.
My husband, two children, and I stopped here for a coffee and a break after sightseeing. The staff were incredibly efficient and polite, taking good care of our girls and finding something suitable for them. We will definitely return.
I recently visited the Fort Dunree location and enjoyed a delicious soup and sandwich lunch. The sandwich consisted of four quarters with various salad spreads on different types of bread. However, the service was quite slow and seemed overwhelmed by our tour group of 20. This cafe is more of a sit-down experience rather than a grab-and-go option, so if you're in a rush, it may not be the best choice for you.
