My family and I were in Buffalo moving my son into his college housing. We decided to explore Buffalo so that we could give him good suggestions on where to go once we left. We found Betty’s on yelp and decided to try it out. It was amazing! Some of us had the biscuits and gravy and Some just had the traditional build your breakfast. Everything was delicious and everyone cleared their plates. The server was amazing a... View all feedback.
What Sara Janssens doesn't like about Betty's:
We ate outside with our dogs (and there were grass to go). The parking lot nearby was difficult and far, but free. We left our grandma before parking. The kitchen was underused, but the server was communicative and attentive. Many options and employees were knowledgeable. Since then wings were the standout. Impossible burgers and burgers were solid. My Beefless Weck had potential but was too salty (and I love salt). View all feedback.
The hotel is located in a very beautifully restored ~170 years old building that was told me has had many uses; from a hardware store to a shoe store. outside the terrace. I sat at the bar and was very fast plated, although it was very busy. tofu hasch was great with black beans, caramelized bevelling, sweet potato pitches and tofu with a side of kartoffels. coffee was good. complete bar.
So many other problems with the service, but I will vegan it- the server did not know the basic / brand of vegan cheeze used, the ok but also if asked to ask back would just tell us that they say it is not cashew based (allergic) and simply refused to tell us what brand. the daily specialties were why we have come to say that they do not have breakfast today (then they take it from their menu) the offers come all with a side, but most sides are not vegan- so with my kids grilled cheeze we underbed black (they said, tasted like nothing and needed to eat with so much) a sub fee should not be the same sub-order fee, so essentially they receive a sandwich without side, then they pay the full price for a sub-part that sucks. they had milk for coffee, great, but it was like really warm, maybe sitting in the back? great, vegan options to have, but not when they suck and server are not trained on them.
This was the best vegan breakfast I had in a restaurant in new remembrance.
Buffalo is a fantastic city for vegan options. I had the taste of buffalo' and went back to the brunch some days later. betty’s is a community book and I see why!
Love Betty's! We've been for both brunch and dinner and the vegan options are amazing! Honestly some of the best vegan food in Buffalo. The chef clearly knows what they are doing. They always have a lot of vegan options, especially on special, so make sure to ask what their specials are of the day. When we went for dinner, 75% of the specials were vegan (marked with v on the menu). We had the amazing mac and cheese, honestly some of the best vegan mac I've ever had, and i always order vegan mac when I find it! So that's saying a lot cuz I've tried a lot of mac and cheeses lol. The Vegan Tour of Buffalo main dish (on regular menu, not a special) is an absolute must as it has two of Buffalo's most classic dishes in one plate: Buffalo wings (seitan) and (vegan) beef in weck. So good! For brunch, we had a couple of the vegan brunch plates (there were many vegan options on the brunch menu including specials), both of which were phenomenal! They do use more of the premade products for breakfast (Just egg, Beyond sausage) but they were perfectly prepared and delicious. Toast was homemade along with homemade hash browns with peppers and onions. For dessert they've always got a lot of vegan specials, the depression era cake was amazing! Frosting was perfect, sweet but not too sweet. All in all a must not miss place for any vegan in Buffalo. They are taking covid seriously and have outdoor seating, an outdoor terrace (enclosed in winter), and indoor dining that is properly spaced. Reservations taken for dinner only.
