When you need a break from busy and noisy Buenos Aires, or after visiting the Botanical Gardens or the zoo, La Esquina Café has all that you need to perk you up with a coffee, delicious and fresh cakes and pastries, toasted sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes. If you need to turn things down a notch have a beer- always cold, a glass or bottle of wine, or a cocktail and an Argentine picada-an assortment of ham, salami, cheese, olives, etc.The clients are mostly delightful Porteños of all ages, but there is frequent opportunity to meet with foreign visitors.The new owner, Oscar, has lived in English speaking countries, speaks excellent English, and is accommodative to all foreigners. You will know it is Oscar when you meet the gentleman who takes such obvious pleasure in making certain you feel welcomed and well taken care of. It is the perfect place to relax in the shade, share conversation with strangers, or simply sit quietly and listen to the birds singing from the botanical garden and the big trees above. La Esquina Cafe has 4 or 5 tables outside and perhaps 10 tables inside, WI-FI, and daily newspapers. It is open from 8 to 8 seven days a week.
