We came after a walk on the off-chance of a lunchtime meal but unfortunately they weren't serving food, having been busy with their beer festival in recent days. The staff were very friendly though, and we would certainly visit again. It seemed it would be a nice atmosphere. At least 7 other people were disappointed too, while we were there having a drink. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I visited on Sunday evening at the end of their beer festival, 7 of the 20 beers on the festival stillage had sold out, there were another 4 on the bar. The beers were mostly from Devon, plus 3 from Exmoor Brewery, Somerset, 2 from Palmer's Brewery, Dorset. I like dark beers, so after trying a couple of lighter beers, I had a half pint each of Exeter: Darkness Exmoor: Beast, lovely. This is a great pub which I must admit that I haven't been to for a couple of years, probably pre pandemic. I hope that I can visit again in the not too distant future, although it is about a 30 mile round trip.
