Delicious food. The flavors were really good, especially the cabbage. The dan dan noodles were just okay, but the chili oil dumplings were our favorite - juicy and flavorful. The restaurant had an interesting single-serving bathroom, which even had complimentary mouthwash. We realized afterwards that we probably needed it, as our mouths were filled with garlic taste haha. We didn't enjoy the double-cooked pork belly... View all feedback.
I am not sure why this place has 4 stars on google.Food and service was goodHuge menu lot of options for Chinese food lovers and fish loversI ordered mainly beef and I enjoyed
How can the chef make everything SO good? I hope he stays for a VERY long time. This is our 2nd experience dining in the restaurant and both times they do not disappoint! Reservation is recommended as this place does get packed. Here are the dishes we tried.1. Chongqing sour fresh fish fish was fresh with less bones than I expected. Unlike other Szechuan restaurants the sour cabbage is less sour here which I really prefer. Sometimes, other places makes it wayyy tooo sour! This is just a personal preference. It is a milky broth with a hint of sourness. The sour cabbage was fresh and home made.2. Okra The first time I had this dish it was fresh and crunchy so absolutely wonderful. 2nd time was overboiled/slimy/mushy so I was a little disappointed the 2nd time around.3. Baby octopus on a griddle this dish came out with so much smoke that it caused the entire area to start coughing! lol but it was worth it. Very flavorful, tasty, crunchy, and not slimy.4. Loofa Excellent and perfect execution of sauce lack a bit salt but I can fix that!5. Teatree mushroom with ground meet this dish was so good!! Flavors were similar to the octopus a grilled taste with many garnishment.6. Water duck soup/Herbal chicken soup both were flavorful with a bunch of herbs. Wish they put a tad less msg but I do not personally mind too much. I usually clear 2 bowls of rice with soup!! Highly recommended if you enjoy herbal soup.7. Mapo tofu I have not had any mapo tofu in NYC that I enjoy because they all use the firmer tofu which I dislike. This restaurant uses a softer silkier tofu that is more difficult to make. I LOVE IT. It is so delicious this is where my third bowl of rice goes! Highly recommended.8. Fish stomach This dish was prepared similar to Cantonese style with a light chicken broth sauce with hints of red/green pepper. It is amazingly crunchy, clean, refreshing. I highly recommend this dish as it is very light and delicious!9. Roast lamb leg my finance found this to be too dry but I thought it was pretty good. Lamb leg chopped up, deep fried and stirred with pepper/Szechuan spice. The spices were on point and had hints of lamb gaminess. Perfect for me!10. Chendu cold noodles/Chinese pepper chicken were very standard (nothing outstanding)Their free peanuts are the best of all the Szechuan restaurants! Fried then added Chinese BBQ dry spice! So good! The staff has been nice to me every time I went for takeout or the two times I dined in. The food is much better dining in so I do recommend eating in person. Overall, a very good Szechuan restaurant for Brooklyn (surprisingly).
Really delicious! Portions are family style. Vegetarian options include a great meat free mapo tofu and veggie sides (the pea shoots were so flavorful and delicious)
We were recommended this spot from our Airbnb host. It did not disappoint! Ordered the pork dumplings which were clearly handmade and tender, the roasted cauliflower was also delicious and a seafood hot pot. They bring the dishes out as they are prepared and we’re attentive to anything extra we needed. Would definitely stop here again if in this part of Brooklyn.
This restaurant feels like it belongs in Flushing because of the decor. It also felt very strange waking into a restaurant on 8th avenue and hearing so much English. Made me doubt this place once I sat town.Great taste! Not only spicy (that numbing sensation) but also savory — packing in flavor. Was very impressed with the dan dan noodle — it looked very plain even after mixing but was very good. My favorite dan dan noodle spot now. I like that that they added some veggies 豆苗 pea shoots. The fish dish we ordered was surprising. I was expecting some soft fish filet. All the pieces were chewy with bounce — like they cut the grain of the fish intentionally to have a bite. Taishanese cauliflower, wood ear, and mushroom in the dish were ?Service was good. Our tea and water was always refilled.
