Overall, this hidden gem is highly recommended for wine lovers looking for a unique and charming experience in a relaxed setting.
Nice little spot, great wine selection, good food/selection, great vibe. It’s a little over priced, but surprisingly mainly the food.
Actually, one of my favorite places in brooklyn. try not to do too much, and do what it does (light farewell, bistro feeling, good price wein) so well. update aug 18, 2022: still exceptional. always love to present friends to this hidden gemstone.
The black mountain wine house is located in a mostly residential area of brooklyn and is located on the hoyt road and the union, away from everything else. I had passed it often and always asked me how it was. Finally, a day before I met some friends to dinner near, I decided to stop and check it before dinner. it is a nice place. rustic feels safe. the food, beer, wee and not hard cocktails. their selection of everything is quite extensive. prices are not terrible, but not the biggest. it didn't seem to be happy hour and came when they opened. my argument would be the service. place was not packed at all and two people worked. I've been patient for the personal, I really did, but that was over-exaggerated. I would have liked to get another round, but finally I got the ****. hopefully it was a one-time ding. when I go back to Hoyt Street, I will be sure to stop and go again.
Wow, what an amazing place for date night or a casual night of wein. the sitting places outdoors are amazing, especially when the weather is beautiful. my man and I loved sitting places on the wooden chairs with the footrest. it was such a great winery during the detension. the choice of wein here is great. I ordered the cappelletti royale (cappalleti, prosecco, lemon twist over) and it was fantastic. can't wait to come back to try more on their weeping list.
Spotted this gem on Yelp before we even landed in Brooklyn. Cozy yet sophisticated vibes, we downed all of our small plates, charcuterie, pea soup, Brussel sprout/kale salad and goat cheese crostini. Yum, yum, yum. If there's one area of opportunity it would be to go one higher on the wine list. Some choices were predictable and accessible elsewhere rather than new discoveries I delight in at a wine bar. Honestly, tho, I loved this place so much that ultimately I still highly, highly recommend.
