Had a great time here. The bouncers were professional and easygoing. Drinks were delicious. Dance floor was a good time and DJs were great too. The crowd seemed young and not pretentious at all. Would definitely go back. View all feedback.
What Harry Leannon doesn't like about Black Flamingo:
My two friends came to meet us down after dinner, and were greeted with some rules of the Bouncer: no hate speech no hospitable no fights no staring-no this yet, or you are thrown out that I actually appreciated and also found fun just the kind of guys they are (they would never do that). They played a Spanish song and the rest were songs without words, to which one has to force himself to dance. The amount was very... View all feedback.
My boyfriend and I have been wanting to go here for a while now. We’ve become somewhat of vegan foodies throughout our relationship and love to try vegan spots we haven’t been to yet. With that being said, our experience at Black Flamingo was good but not great. We left disappointed. We ordered a few tacos each and ordered a main entree each. All of the tacos were amazing and delicious, and for $4 each during Happy Hour we loved it. However, the same can not be said for our entrees. My boyfriend ordered the Flutas and upon our first few bites we realized it needed A LOT more seasoning and spice then what we were served. The Flutas tasted bland and nothing near Vegan Spanish food we have had at other restaurants, but hey, maybe that’s Black Flamingo’s interpretation and we just didn’t agree with it. I had a lovely arepa but it was a very small plate for this dish to be considered an entree. If there is a next time I’d get a burrito so I feel full and satisfied. Overall, if I were to come back here it would be for the tacos and drinks.
We came to celebrate my fiance 's birthday and mother 's day with his family everything went so well! Fiance and I are vegan; his family is not. Still, no plate went unfinished and not a drop was left in our drinks. Must haves from our meal: Tostones (especially the chimi; this is a big compliment coming from a Dominican family , Esquites (order them as a side with main dish , and The Jam tacos (the BEST thing on our table IMO! . We also ordered the Coliflor Frito, Empanadas (both seitan and spinach , The Savory Shroom and Al Pastor tacos, MOM tacos, the Flamingo bowl, Wild Mushroom Quesadilla, Sweet Plantain Arepa, and The Chili Cheese burrito. Everything was good, general consensus was we wanted more tacos, and the chimi was kept on the table for the entire meal! However, my fiance and I both felt the burrito lacked intrigue; our server said it was one of the most popular menu items but it just fell flat for us, kind of one dimensional. The vibe is lovely, feels like an upscale Latin Caribbean hideout with its lush deep green and gold accented decor. We didn 't see the dance area but I imagine it 's a fun time there too. Birthday boy and Mom were both extremely happy at the end of the meal, though we sadly had no room for dessert. Would definitely return! Note there 's a Taco Tuesday special and Happy Hour on Wednesdays to Fridays from 6 8pm! Go get your party on!
Great food, very interesting combinations of flavors. Drinks were also pretty good! The only thing I found out was the ambience: the interior design of the place is somewhat strange. It wants to be warm and exotic, but the light and furniture feel cold and unwilling.
The service must improve, short staff and staff should know more about the items in the menu.
Arrived on time at 6:00 and it was not even open until 5 minutes after. Overall, the food was great and the noise level was not too loud to talk to the staff and my partner.
