I learned about this restaurant from a friend, and I was searching for a good spot to have a family meal that wasn't overly trendy or pretentious but still had delicious food. Nanni did not disappoint us. The service was excellent, with extremely friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious, especially dishes with their signature Nanni sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant for its amazing authentic Italia... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Nanni:
The food was excellent but the service was horrific. We ordered soup for appetizer and it took one hour to arrive (no joke). The main course did not come for another 45 minutes (after I asked the waiter twice). When it did come, both myself and my dining partner did not receive the side pasta. When the waiter brought them, it was the wrong type of pasta. It took another 10minutes to get the right type. It is very exp... View all feedback.
Good menu, but it seemed like the same sauce was used on most of the dishes. Veal meatballs were rubbery and the veal scallopini disappointingly tough. Porcini pasta was rough and heavy. Even though service was good, the experience was disappointing for such a highly rated restaurant.
Food was solid, but nothing one cannot find in other Italian restaurants. Service was disappointingly inattentive. We ordered Caesar Salads that took forever to arrive, and finding someone to simply refill a water glass was maddeningly frustrating. The tables are so close to one another and the space in parts of the restaurant is so cramped that one sits back-to-back (chairs bumping into one another) with someone at the next table and it is difficult to maneuver one 's way to and from one 's table.
With the number of 5 star rankings, I was ready to be impressed but wasn't. The food was good, but not great, with the saltimboca a bit oily. The service was gruff, although that didn't really bother me. The wines by the glass were very limited, an okay Chianti as the only red, but the pour was generous.
Exactly what we were looking for. But you forget old school Italian food comes with old school Italian owners and staff. So unless you're a regular do not expect to get treated well. But I guess it's part of the charm. The food was good though and hit the spot.
Great service and food. Very accommodating for special dietary requests.
