We had to wait for quite a while to get a table (so reserve in advance! but it was worth it in the end. We had the baba ghanoush and lamb kebabs. The ghanoush was out of this world — the best I've had in NYC so far. We also tried a sweet dish with ricotta cheese and strawberries called the blintzes which was fascinating! Must try. So loud. I thought we had left that Bagatelle ambiance in pre covid times. It was a 12:30pm reservation on a Saturday. Maybe the vibe is more chill on weekdays? EDIT: on weekdays, the service is comically rude. Like will drop your check while turning your back to you and not saying a word. I'm done with this location. The Brooklyn one is much better. Babaganoush very good but they give you way too little bread. Grilled chicken huge portion. chicken was pretty good and cooked well. Potato wedges were ok but kinda soggy. Everything was pretty bland. Had to ask for salt and pepper for the potato wedges. My friend got Sammy's Lamb Kebab. It was good but very small. We got Malabi for dessert. My friend liked it but I didn't (I just don't like jello or mint). Next time I'm gonna try more of the appetizers from the top right. Or come for bru … – show

We just spent 2 weeks in NY and went 3 times to 12 chairs,fantastic food in a lovely area. Our favourite restaurant in the city, very nice staff.

Love the food here!!! Try the Baba ganoush, Hummus, the bread and the Schnitzel salad. It’s always busy! Make sure you get a reservation. Friday and Saturday nights are so much fun!
