What Vera van Zoest doesn't like about Indian Gate:
We were not looking for a fancy or romantic place, just a quick and cheap dinner on our way home. From the outside this looked like the place to go. Food was OK though the portions were a bit small. But the prices were outrageous, twice what you would expect to pay in a simple gatukök like this. Around 200 kr for a bit of rice with curry and four pieces of meat! Worst price-quality I have seen in many years. Would advice to lower the prices considerably, spent a bit more effort on nice decoration, and decrease the number of options on the menu to reduce food waste. Would probably attract more customers if the prices were lower.
We got home delivery, the food was extremely salty, sweet and the main ingredients meat/cheese were dry and briny. Rarely do we ask of a refund but all of the 700 kr dishes were inedible. We took the food back to the restaurant but were met by arrogance and questioning of our complaints. We did not get refunded.
I ate lot of indian food in Stockholm, but the food of Indian Gate Restaurant was amazing. The Chicken Tikka Masala was very delicious.I hope they will do better in the future.
Very very bad experience. I just waste my money and time. There is no taste in there food. Not recommended.
Had lunch there. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Honey Chicken. Food was to me inedible but i forced myself to eat at least some of it to quench some of my hunger. The Chicken Tikka Masala flavor I would describe as Sour Cream and Ketchup with a touch of charred wood. The Honey Chicken on the other hand is harder to describe but suffice to say it really tasted off. I cannot at all recommend this place. My day was ruined. :
