This charming restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth the journey. It's the only eatery in the area where I can consistently find delicious vegan dishes. The restaurant focuses on serving food that is sourced from local, sustainable farms. The menu is small and changes every few months to reflect the seasons in Wisconsin. The chef is happy to accommodate special requests. The atmosphere is cozy... View all feedback.
What Renee M doesn't like about Red Oak:
Despite the odd announcement about the 20% service charge, the ambiance of the restaurant is enjoyable. However, the apple salad I had was not up to par - it was drenched in balsamic vinegar with two pieces of dry bread, and a few pieces of dried out chicken on top. It seemed like the dish was lacking proper seasoning. It appeared as though the kitchen staff may have been inexperienced, but they did redeem themselves... View all feedback.

We found ourselves at The Red Oak while driving around the countryside and realized it's worth a trip out of the city all by itself local, unique, and farm to table. Our foods tasted delicious, and even the cocktails and beers were something special. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
You won't regret anything you order here... and because everything is local and fresh, the menu changes seasonally. There are a few menu staples that you can always find, like the bison burger... but every season brings something fresh and exciting! Tonight, for instance, I was treated to a peach and goat cheese tart with spicy honey glaze for an appetizer... one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. Such a perfect balance of sweet and savory with a hint of spice. The menu had many peach flavored dishes to choose from, as it is the season, including a peach cocktail! Did I mention the cocktails also change seasonally? Staff is wonderful and friendly as well as tentative. It's an intimate, cozy setting. Reservations are a must!! Vegetarian options: Fish, salads, menu changes seasonally Wheelchair accessibility: 2 handicap parking spots with side door access for wheelchairs

I went to this restaurant for the first time with a large group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We brought our own cake, which the hostess offered to refrigerate for us. Our server explained that a 20% gratuity would be automatically added to the bill. However, she only managed to take drink orders for half of our group before taking our food order. When the food arrived, there was confusion with our orders and it took a while to sort out. After we finished our meals, we waited for 30 minutes without anyone coming to check on us. We had to ask for our cake to be brought out, but they didn't provide clean silverware or clear our dirty dishes. The food was mediocre and lukewarm, and the service definitely did not deserve a 20% gratuity. Additionally, we were charged extra for cake plates and received poor service compared to other customers who were served promptly and efficiently. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone based on our experience.
