Been twice and loved it. Great set up and one of the more comfortable board games cafés out there. Nice selection of drinks, both hot and alcoholic. Great place to try out new games considering how big their selection is. You can have the fun of a games night but not have to worry about the dishes and have someone else serve you!
Nice little board game cafe which we went to with a large group of friends. We had the back section booked out including dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was tasty though as it has a very small kitchen it came in several batches. Normally not a problem if there's only 4-5 of you, but as we were twenty five it did take a little while, but we had the games to keep us entertained.
On Sunday evening we visited chance and counter and had the best time. there is a large selection of board games, and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. there is a really great atmosphere with everyone who enjoys himself. the food was excellent and the milk shakes too. I would recommend booking before visiting as it seemed to be a very popular hotel. would definitely recommend everyone who wants to come here! we will return!
So many games to choose and so many I have never seen! a beautiful relaxed atmosphere in a picturesque building. the personal was really friendly and we managed to press for a longer session than was originally available for us. they were also helpful and offered suggestions for game selection and with rules, if necessary. Eat, toasties and flavored frits, and cakes were really good. good place to relax or have competition and have fun.
Absolutely brilliant, love this place. came for my birthday parties and had a brilliant time. is only partial that the venue must be bigger to all in, but that does not take away how good it would be 100% recommended if they love board games

This restaurant is a great spot to enjoy board games with friends. They have a good variety of games and beers to choose from and the service is quick. Make sure to book in advance as it can get busy. The average cost per person is £10-20 and the food, service, and atmosphere all receive a top rating of 5. Highly recommend trying their cakes.
We spent 2 hours at this restaurant and time went by quickly. There was a nice variety of games available and we tried the chicken pie, which was delicious. I deducted 1 star because there were only pie options on the menu, and my husband does not eat pie or mashed potatoes. I also did not enjoy the gravy. Overall, we had a great time. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our meal was a lunch, and the price per person was £10-20. I would rate the food a 4, service a 5, and atmosphere a 5.
The restaurant offers a wide range of games, from simple and fun to more complex ones. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were warmly welcomed. The vegan pies were delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall, the atmosphere was great. Recommended for lunch, with prices ranging from £1 to £10 per person. The vegetarian dishes were clearly labeled.
Excellent place to play board games and other games with your friends (or even strangers on the social night that happens every week). The atmosphere is lovely, the snacks available are great, the selection of games available is plentiful and the staff is nice. Added to this, it's in Christmas steps, which is a lovely spot in Bristol. Definitely recommended. Really fun evenings spent here. Plenty of games to choose from or friendly staff to ask for a recommendation. Tasty food and drinks available as well. Fully recommend!

I have to say, the highlight of this place is definitely the games, which makes sense since it's a board game cafe. However, their drinks are always on point and the food is also quite tasty.
This cafe is a board game cafe, so I don't believe anyone comes in expecting upscale dining. But the food is satisfactory!
The vegan choices at this restaurant are fantastic, from smoothies to vegetable curry to small plates. They charge £5 to play board games, so it's a good idea to make a reservation beforehand. While some may not visit solely for the food, if you plan on dining while gaming, you won't be let down.
I'm surprised to see this Board game café in Happy Cow as this place would be mostly for an afternoon of playing board games than coming there for food but I still highly recommend the place. I'm a big board gamer and have tried several board game shop in the UK, this one is definitely my favourite. The atmosphere is really nice, the place is lovely and the drink selection is yummy too.
