Shafston Hotel Verandah Bar & Grill

A group of us goes a bit quiet every week after Shaftston, but the new owners are setting goals. You have a sensational steak sandwich that I would recommend to everyone, it has Beetroot that I love so if you don't like Beetroot... leave her to take it off, but for me it makes the sandwich.

We went to dinner on Sunday night as a group of 7. The pub was quite right, but the place had a pleasant atmosphere. Drinks were very cheap. Meals were delicious, generous in size and good price. Service was friendly and... welcome. Everything in a very pleasant night.

I loved the Shafston Hotel. My partner and I come every week for trivia or just meals and drinks, and for years we have been regular. In the last 12 months, however, they have ditched their special menu (the former...great) and replaced it with a half-baked Monday, Wednesday and Saturday special menu that is average. I understand that the Kovid has made things hard, but I think these changes had started well before closing, so I think it is more likely to change the administration. I always saw the same groups here, and it was always busy. Nowadays you're lucky to get us there, and when we go, it's empty. Return two for a Wednesday and Thursday and you could get a decent amount again!l see attached average/10 special menu.

We had my daughters 40. Birthday party here family and friends . When we came home, we realized that my granddaughter had left her gold chain that was a J and a diamond in it. We called for the realization that they had left it on the table, they found it and informed us that they would put it in the safe, as it was an Abitur that came from their great mother in some way COVID so that we could not pick it up. We thought it would be okay as it was laid in their safe good low and now see that the pubs are open, we call to go and get it and it is not there, so someone stole it from the safe. Now I have to tell my 12-year-old grandson that her graduation party that she has received from me has someone else got it I'm not very happy with what happened. So you see, I will not give you a great review as per incident there is not very nice for this to happen, no one should steal it from the safe that steals. Not happy Lynette Baldwin

We are regulars on a Friday night before poker. Normally a drink and meal has been a good experience. However, things have changed. The staff in the kitchen seem more interested in chatting to customers(friends) then firstly taking meal orders from the queue of people...waiting.
