Contribute Feedback What Karen M likes about Hatch and Co:
The Gasworks has certainly become a trendy place to meet. The restaurants and cafes certainly attracted large crowds for Mother’s Day last week. The best thing about Hatch Co was the friendly staff as this contributed to the restaurant’s pleasant vibe. All mothers were offered a complimentary glass of champagne such a nice touch! I enjoyed the mushroom risotto. This is probably a dish that is difficult to present. Wh... View all feedback.
What Chris M doesn't like about Hatch and Co:
I eaten her before but not for a couple of years A client invited me to join him and I was looking forward to a nice meal however the fish I had was actually inedible I didn’t even realise fish could turn to rubber ! Luckily it had some nice greens under it so essentially I had those and left most of the fish intact which I was really surprised the waitress didn’t comment on This made me wonder if I wasn’t the only p... I went there in August 2020 on a week night. They only had one waiter and one chef working. It got busy and they struggled to manage the orders. The owner, chef and waiter got into a heated exchange, which ended with the owner leaving and expecting the poor waiter and chef to deal with the irrate customers. The food was terrible. We had a few salads and pasta and they were tasteless and undercooked. I complained and we ended up not having to pay for the mains and received a drink on the house thanks to the apologetic and generous waiter. What was meant to be a relaxing evening with friends was ruined. Please take my advice and don't go there!
Been twice for lunch in last month work in area and won’t be going back again. Food is fine but trying to get served is impossible and the staff are disinterested.
3rd Time Diner Lunch Saturday Ordered the Prawn Cocktail Salad, watery and no flavor Fellow diner ordered the Salami Feta Pizza, turned up well under cooked, sent back to kitchen, returned still under cooked, Feta still solid cubes, under cooked base. Service poor, waiter spilled wine over the table, no apology or attempt to clean up, Not attentive at all
I was disappointed with this place. I arrived on a warm Friday evening and specifically asked advice on a long cool non- alcoholic drink. The barman offered none and after I selected a happy hour mocktail af full cost) delivered an extraordinarlily small drink with no hint of irony, and ignored me when I asked if I could get water to accompany it. I just think communication could be better.
We had a large table here for a 21st party. The restaurant was very busy which we thought was a good sign.. how mistaken we were. Whilst the initial service to get drinks was not too bad with drinks served quite quickly, it was certainly a downward slope from there on in. The waitress that served us took orders, with some of us having entrees as well as mains little did I know this was the best choice I made all night. It took some time for the entrees to come out, and based on what the waitress had said we expected mains to come pretty much at the same time, this certainly wasn 't the case, in fact from ordering it was nearly 2 hours before meals arrived and people were starving. For entrees we had the Steak tartare, this was ok but was by far not the best we have had, to be honest I did look twice because it looked like we had the wrong meal with the presentation looking more like a bruchettta. Other times you have the meal, capers etc separately with the egg raw generally on top of the meat, this meal came already all mixed together so you couldn 't really tell what ingredients were present. The mix tasted fresh enough but the base it was presented on was far to crispy meaning it was almost impossible to cut through and ended up shooting off the plate in splinters quite an odd way to finish the dish. For main we had the Osso Bucco with polenta, when it came it didn 't really look that appetising in fact looked a bit sloppy on the plate. Upon cutting into the osso buck it was quite tough, it didn 't fall off the bone which is the way it should be, it was quite chewy. My second mouthful was awful it was grissly as was the next couple of bites at this point I gave up it was horrible. We also had angel hair pasta with seafood an ok dish not great and certainly nothing to rave home about, in fact was over salted. There were other dishes around the table that also noted really salty food including the muscles and chicken I just hope the salt was salt and nothing more sinister after people had complained about the wait (I have seen some disgusting things chefs do on TV : There were several dishes sent back as a result of the poor quality and taste. One waitress told us the initial waitress should have said there was a 2 hour wait, another said the ticketing system had failed regardless the restaurant should have looked after those that had bookings rather than continuing to take 'walk ins ' when they couldn 't handle what they had. The staff did take the price of the food that was returned off the bill, they also took of the drinks for those that didn 't get their mains and gave a 20% discount. Whilst this went some way, the poor food could have ruined the night and it should never have happened. I for one won 't be coming back here... should have read the reviews before and perhaps we would have gone elsewhere. My advice avoid this place like the plague!!!
