Best aloo gobi I have had in Brisbane for sometime, also best onion bhajis. It's been a while since we visited Bengal Kitchen it used to be our favourite Indian restaurant, so pleased we returned actually managed to get a seat in these carona days View all feedback.
What Leonardo Sanches doesn't like about Bengal Kitchen:
This place is really hit or miss. One trip the food appears fresh and flavorful, the next it is pasty and everything tastes the same. Very disturbing when the waiter asks you what should be in a dish and then proceeds to walk into the kitchen and start cooking...this actually happened*! Needless to say, it was no big surprise when Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken came to the table and all looked and tasted pre... View all feedback.
Always walk past this place until we decided to finally dine there for dinner. Greeted with welcoming vibes in such a traditional indian restaurant. I ordered the butter chicken which was soo good, it was rich and full of flavour. My partner ordered the goat curry and said the meat fell off the bone and was very aromatic. He loved it. Rice was perfectly cooked aswell. Highly recommend!!
Diana. Seriously great cooking here & what could one expect from this brilliant chef who has worked at all my favourite Indian restaurants. Ex Nataraja, the old Bengal Curry House (used to be my fave place in the Gabba years ago) & Sitar. We had the mixed entree to start couldn't fault any of it (I nibbled on some of the meat ones although am vegetarian!) Loved the veg samosas & the veg bhajis great! I had my all time fave aloo gobi for the main & can honestly say it was the best I have eaten since the Nataraja when Claude ran the place. The partner had the Moroccan salad, something a little different in an Indian restaurant, he said it was great too. I nibbled the meat & it melted in the mouth. Also like to add we ate off Royal Albert china which was a serious buz for me, sooo pretty the pink rose design! Service prompt, efficient all in all a great night & definitely on my hit list for return visits keep up the good work. April 2017 Update- We revisited to find new owners taken over from our favorite original chef. Although the new chef is OK was not up to the usual standard of previous owner

This place is really hit or miss. One trip the food appears fresh and flavorful, the next it is pasty and everything tastes the same. Needless to say, it was no big surprise when Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken came to the table and all looked and tasted pretty much the same. When the Saag and Palak Paneer came to the table, I was convinced it WAS the same dish. I love Indian and after giving this place a few chances, I won't be back. It is a shame...the closest Indian to my office. *Could have been the other way around - it could have been the cook that came out to take our order and just didn't understand what we were asking for...either way, very odd.
Good Indian. Similar to english style....terrible decor...just to make it an authentic english style curry house! Some confusion with order but otherwise well worth a visit.
