The Nut Nettle is a charming café located in the Queens Hotel on High Street in Bridlington's old town. While it may be a bit of a trek from the beach, it is definitely worth a visit for those seeking vegan treats. We were very impressed with the coffee and cakes on offer, with a fantastic selection of vegan options to choose from. We tried three different items and they were all delicious, especially the frangipane.... View all feedback.
This was an amazing restaurant that eat is excellent and the staff are so beautiful. the menu is small, but everything we tried was delicious. well expensive too.
Lovely food, just could do with a few more options. Otherwise great place, will definitely go again!
I'm rarely disappointed by restaurant trips. For me they fall in to two categories somewhere we have researched and want to go; or somewhere functional, like I am away on business and just need a functional meal, and my expectations are adjusted accordingly. The Nut Nettle falls firmly into the former. The idea of a trip to Bridlington first came up almost as a throw away joke as somewhere on the coast for a visit after a business trip to York. Then we started researching vegan options (thin on the ground it turns out, even the old staple of chips is difficult down by the sea front due to the Yorkshire habit of cooking with beef dripping) and found the Nut Nettle which made our mind up several miles of sandy beach and what sounded like an interesting vegan café sealed the deal. We came here for a mid-morning breakfast, and we both chose the mushrooms on toast and an americano coffee. First up I am a bit of a coffee snob, and this was a great cup of coffee served in a pleasingly bright earthenware cup. Then the mushrooms on toast. This is a simple idea, but executed perfectly. This is food of the highest calibre. The UK has plenty of good vegan food (I live in Glasgow where we are blessed with a multitude of options), as well as tasty it is quite often fun, but in terms of quality of food this is right up there with Greens in Didsbury, Manchester as being the best in the UK. We took away a couple of their BBQ sausage rolls and some cakes (rhubarb rose frangipane and banoffee pie type thing) to eat later on by the seafront. Again these were all delicious. It is also a really nice idea taking over a pub that isn't being used during the day to turn it into a café. The staff were also really nice, friendly, welcoming and attentive without being intrusive or overbearing in anyway. The garden out the back looks to be a real sun trap in the right weather. The Nut Nettle is very much the type of place to give you a reason to visit Bridlington, it is well worth the trip.
This is my one of my favourite Restaurants of all time and definitely my favourite vegan restaurant. The food is delicious and their hot drinks are the best I have had. I often have the waffles which are savoury and Gluten Free (I do not eat Gluten). They are scrumptious . I love the Cashew Cream and coconut bacon that it comes with. I always have have the maca mushroom latte which is superb. I have tried many other dishes, the Caesar salad is fantastic, the pasta was lovely, the cakes are out of this world! I believe there is something for everyone. I have brought many non vegan friends and family there and they all have loved it and have gone back on their own. I could add many more superlatives to my review and will leave it at the title of this review DIVINE! Updated from previous review on 2022-02-01
