We were excited to try out this new restaurant in my local town based on its high ratings. However, our experience was disappointing. My friend and I were seated at a table near the door and received a warm welcome from the server. We were recommended two dishes each, but found them to be very small, even for tapas or fine dining standards. The tikka dish lacked flavor, the mushroom dish was overly oily, and while the steak and duck dishes were cooked well, the portion sizes were inadequate. We felt that the prices were too high for the unsatisfying meals we received. Additionally, leaving the front door open could be problematic during winter months. Unfortunately, we left the restaurant still hungry and ended up eating at another establishment in town.
We decided to try out this new restaurant because we love tapas and Spain. As soon as we walked in, we received a warm welcome and were able to relax in a small seating area with a drink before our meal. Our drinks were promptly taken and a liter of sangria arrived quickly. We ordered five tapas and were brought bread with homemade alioli while we waited for our food. The tapas were delicious and we enjoyed them along with more bread and alioli, all accompanied by sangria. The service was excellent throughout the evening, with the friendly chef and staff making us feel welcome. We hope that both locals and visitors will support this new venture, bringing a taste of Spain to the east coast.
I went to this restaurant with my father and sister because we all enjoy tapas and wanted to give it a try. The staff were fantastic, very accommodating and friendly. The menu was a bit limited, but that was expected since they had only been open for a week and a half. Despite this, the three dishes we each chose were all delicious. We also received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. With two bottles of wine, our bill came to £75 for the three of us, which we thought was great value considering we were all satisfied. The only downside was that the room was a bit cold, but it didn't detract from our overall experience. I hope this restaurant thrives and I will definitely return once they have expanded their menu.
