Enjoyed a lovely meal with family and two dogs. Booked table online and requested a quiet table so not close to other dogs. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Will definitely book again. View all feedback.
What Nat V doesn't like about The Bower Inn, Bridgwater:
We booked a table here whilst in the area to celebrate my husband’s birthday (which I mentioned on the booking). Usually when I book a table elsewhere for this kind of occasion, the staff make an effort to acknowledge it. Sunday Roast with my Husband and daughter, staff were very friendly and the service was fast and attentive. Plus the food was very tasty and plentiful. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Unable to comment on the bedrooms as we did not stay the night.
An idyllic treasure is indeed Bower Inn. If one were to rate only the restaurant, it would have earned its 5 stars. Both the dinner and the included breakfast were excellent. For the wide variation in design and furnishings between two room categories, I unfortunately have to deduct 1 star. While the luxury room is decorated with love for detail, artistic and cosy, the so-called the so-called Cozy Room seems rather meagre. The bed here was definitely too narrow for two people.
Stayed for 4 nights. Our son lives in Bridgwater and this was a spur of the moment visit so our choice of rooms was limited. Apart from it being up some steep stairs we were pleased with it. (Both in our late 70s) The breakfasts were very nice. Only negative was bread. I would’ve liked a choice of wholemeal bread but was told there was only sourdough. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will probably stay again on our next visit but book earlier for a ground floor room.

Nobody made any mention of it and when I asked a staff member if anything special could be done she said she would check with a supervisor. The supervisor told me they don’t usually do anything special for birthdays but would bring him a brownie dessert. We ordered dessert and coffee but no brownie was forthcoming so we paid and left. I wish I had booked somewhere else now. Aside from this the service was a little slow but the food was lovely, with some kind of acknowledgment of the birthday this would be a solid 5 stars!
