What Meike Jonker doesn't like about Chez Domi:
6 to drink a drink! the waitress refused that we had two tables and asked us to wait for a table to be released, while there was a lot of room on the terrace! Once installed, one of us orders a drink. waitress' answer "no sir'a pas", while it was on the map!!Bright! We'll avoid! View all feedback.
After being totally ignored by the restaurant next door, we went into Chez Domi who found us a table immediately. We all had the Menu de Jour and were pleasantly surprised, the pate to start and the confit of duck were especially tasty. No issues that some other reviewers mention.
Stopped here for a late afternoon coffee and potential dessert/ pâtisserie. Waitress came out quickly took our order of 2 coffees. Allongée and café crème. Didn 't give us chance to ask anything else. When she returned I politely asked could we order some cakes? 2 tartes au citron. Pas de desserts was her response. What a shame. My allongée was not that at all more like a single weak shot espresso in a larger cup. No wonder the place was quiet. A German couple came and sat down too. Weren 't given more than 5 seconds to peruse the menu. They too wanted a coffee and cake. Same response. They still wanted food so ordered an omelette but I 'm not convinced that went down well either. We waited a while for the waitress to return. She did not. So I took the liberty of counting up what we owed using the menu to check pricing. Went inside to pay and she had calculated our bill €1 too much. You may say it 's just a tip but not for that place. Poor service, poor ambience and I did feel they were trying to take advantage of a youngish foreign couple. Fortunately my French was better than she had realised and I explained that 's not the prices I added up on the menu. She apologised and changed her bill. We paid and promptly left. Disappointed.
For a lunch by the water. a very simple and cheap menu. Good products, generous portions and a very nice welcome. the waitress gets in 4 to satisfy you despite the affluence of these holidays. I had my "Fried Supplement" offered with a smile. We'll go back.
The first half an hour waiting was watching the dishes being returned which was rather worrying. We waited and waited, every time the waitress saying she would take our order. The locals orders were being taken, not ours. Another 1/2 hour passed. Disgusted we got up and left. We have never ever has this treatment before. I wish we had read the reviews, mostly by disgruntled French customers.
Very nice place in good weather. one can actually enjoy the terrace when the sun is from the game. There is a small menu at a reasonable price. choice of simple dishes also. we go there regularly and the waitress, often alone for the outside, is very nice!
