After not going to Cinquecento for a couple years because of mediocre food and even worse service, my wife and two friends tried it recently because we had heard good things about the restaurant with the arrival of a new chef (formerly at the now-closed Erbaluce in Bay Village). We were very impressed! The pastas (norcina, funghi, and bolognese) were all fresh and delicious, as was the salmon and arugula salad. Warm,... View all feedback.
What Trace Marquardt doesn't like about Cinquecento Roman Trattoria:
This restaurant has a bustling atmosphere with a dimly lit, industrial vibe. Unfortunately, the service was quite slow. It took us quite a while to place our food order, but once it was in, our meals were served surprisingly quickly. I ordered the Linguine Con Vongole, but I found the dish to be unbalanced and overly salty, which was not enjoyable. This is actually my second attempt at dining here, as I wasn't impres... A wonderful and hidden little jewel of Boston. You don't have to be in the North End to get a great Italian. Atmosphere and service is wonderful. You can sit outside and have private functions. The staff is very competent with perfect service. Great flavors and great options.
The ambience and food here is always a pleasure. Had a big birthday party here and they were very accommodating
The outdoor patio is great in the warm months. And there is a nice bar. But the dining room can get very loud on a busy night (acoustics aren't so great). The food is pricy, but inline with the upscale restaurants in the area. The food is always good, I love the mushroom soup.
Went there for fathers day and the place was pretty busy but the service was fast and efficient! They had a pre fixed menu as a a special that had 3 different brunch items came with juice as well as coffee. The tiramisu French toast and the eggs were made to perfection. Definitely a good place to try. Also the parking lot next to them is where you can find ample parking and can get free parking for 5 hours if you get your ticket validated from the restaurant!
This is an average place for brunch. The decor keeps you intrigued and adds to the cozy feel of the place. The brunch menu is kind of limited if you’re like me and don’t eat pork. I had been expecting the prixe fixe menu but it wasn’t available when I visited. The donuts are a great addition to wrapping up the meal. I recommend this place if you have a large party and want to host a private event. They have multiple rooms and a statement staircase.
