Le Bar Cave de la Monnaie - Bordeaux

Hidden gem close to st Jean train station. Great advises from the friendly staff on the wine to match the tasty dishes, seafood as a starter, duck burger then cannelés au rhum, delicious!

Restaurant we were planning to eat at was closed despite advertising it was open Friday evenings. Having passed Le Bar Cave a couple of times walking between the old town and our apartment we went in. It is compact, no more than sixteen covers. For starters we had foie gras and roasted camembert, for mains fish of the day and a rumpsteak accompanied by a bottle of the house red. Couldn't fault a thing.

So happy to find this place. small but perfect. eating was amazing. the personal was the same. a friendly place. I couldn't owe our visit. we stayed for hours. that says everything. they should make this a goal if they are in bordeaux.

Just awful.. the one bad experience during our 3 week holiday. Luckily there’s plenty of other good restaurants nearby...

Étrange de trouver l'esprit des bouchons lyonnais à Bordeaux. Tout y est (sauf bien sûr les spécialités lyonnaises).Une table sympathique sans froufrou qui respire la convivialité tout en ayant la qualité.Un très bon accueil et des prix tout à fait abordables.Une table que je recommande sans aucun problème.
