Another diner was unimpressed with the greasy food and slow service, while one group found their meals to be lackluster considering the wait time. However, other reviewers found the restaurant to be a friendly and welcoming spot with good service and delicious homemade food, especially for breakfast. Overall, the general consensus seems to be mixed, with some highlighting positives like the unique atmosphere and great pricing, while others were less impressed with the food quality and service speed.
Eating is just ok and quite expensive for what they get. milkshakes are small and insanely expensive. better in clarke’s general store in cold lake or even in dairy. the owner and the manager do not stick to Kovid rules and respect their mules. by not wearing masks, even in the preparation of food. beautiful retro style but not fulfill the expectations.
On the way to home from the camping site to lunch. I thought of fast eating, but that was not the case. we arrive about 10 minutes a day and it was full in the inner, so we sat on the terrace. it took a bit to get our order, but about average I would say. I had the foot long chili dog and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich think they should both get relatiw fast. Well, I was wrong. more than 35 minutes later our meals arrived. my $14 hot dog was big, but it tasted like a cheaper hot dog, not even all the bark meat that chili was too sweet for my taste. it was almost an hour from the arrival to go, I guess I chose the wrong place when I thought of a fast meal.
I love the small table cabin for children with a few toys and wall phone for them. we love to meet this place after skiing in coldlake on our way home. great prices for food quality. homemade baking to buy to take home. unique diner. and friendly staff. great burger.
We stopped here for lunch on the way to the cold sea, and none of the workers wore masks or were they social distancing tables, which is why I lowered my assessment. that besides eating was good enough, but something overpriced. I had. the chili that was a little small for the price and a little too sweet for me. the brot, the game with him but was fantastic. we also have cupcakes to eat later and they were also delicious. but we wouldn't go for dinner again if we were in the opposite, we would stop for dessert because they were pretty good.
We live in the area and had been here years ago, I thought we would give it another a try today. Sadly, we were disappointed again. Restaurants have just opened up after COVID, there was no social distancing and little hygiene from staff. Menus went...from table to table without being wiped down. Almost every table was seated by the time we left. I was glad I brought hand sanitizer with me for the table. Food was OK. Nothing to write home about and I feel like I could have made better at home. Lesson learned here.
