Cavendish Pavilion - Bolton Abbey

Had my high-time recipe here on the 27th mai and I absolutely loved every second of it, karen and her team made an amazing job. the conversion of the caffe was incredible and eating even better. I don't think I've ever eaten a sticky toffee pudding as it tasted so good! karen, thanks for all her help in making me and kieran's day so special I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to everyone. x

The amount of work that gone into the whole site has made it an excellent place to visit and spend a day. However, I feel that a £10 entrance fee per day with no smaller increments available is going to put people off. You're not going to want to spend a tenner for an hour or two but for a whole day it's not bad. Maybe even if if was halved for half a day it would be better ?

Great place for a brew and cake after a good long walk. Staff helpful and friendly. Tables cleared and cleaned promptly. Lovely views of the river and countryside when dining outside. Toilets well maintained and clean. Restrictions for shop so it doesn't get to crowded. Lovely postcards available, cards, sweets, books and toys. Something for everyone. Entrance fee is £12.50 per car. No booking on-line required. Photos show views from bridge over river.

Good selection of teas, coffee and food. Outdoor seating also provided. Little expensive but probably in line with the costs of places like Starbucks and Costa. All in all, I didn't begrudge paying £12 for four hot drinks. The site is well maintained and its little businesses like this and the nominal charge for parking/ entrance that fund its upkeep. Well worth it in my opinion.
